Oral surgery is always an intriguing specialty for dental students. We get a little bit of exposure to it in dental school, but not enough to really understand the field. Oral surgeons are known to do crazy dental surgical procedures, have high incomes, and high job satisfaction, but what about the sacrifices you’ll need to make to get there?

In this video I’m going to break down all the good and the bad of becoming an oral surgeon. I analyze the income, job prospects, and scope in oral surgery, as well as the sacrifices and opportunity cost to get into OS. And then finally, we’ll talk about whether it’s worth it.
